And another favorite quote is from my long-lost friend Anna: “You always find your people.” She said that at a Dylan concert in 1990. I lost track of her after she moved to Phoenix almost 20 years ago. I looked her up on Facebook and Linked-In recently and brought this up with our mutual friend Jeanne over dinner Friday night. The next day, Saturday, Jeanne called me. “Guess who left a message on my machine today? Anna!” We were ecstatic, and more than a little mystified.
Just last week Jeanne ran into our friend Bev at the local coffee shop. We haven’t seen Bev in almost 20 years either. She’s now an ordained Zen Buddhist. The week before, another one of my friends “lost” for over 20 years surfaced via Facebook. Turns out she moved to L.A.
This phenomenon of reconnection has been happening to me, to Jeanne, and to my son Cullan. Interesting times.
