On Monday evening, when our Dreamsters team worked on my dream, Nevuah brought up Cullan’s name as Ó Cuilinn,”The Holly Tree.” Cullen is an Irish name of Gaelic origin with several meanings: “holly tree,” “young hound,” or “handsome one.” Ó Cuileáin is another interpretation, the descendant of Cuileán. Cuileán translates to “wolf cub” or “young hound” and is associated with strength, loyalty, and vitality. The name Cullen is very common in Cork, the county my Sheehan ancestors came from.
Nevuah also responded to a short dream Peter shared. She pointed out that the names of two of his dream characters had first-name-last-name features. Cullan does too. Cullen can be a first name or last name, and Luther can be a first name or last name. I purposefully made that naming choice for my son many years ago. Back then, I thought Cullen meant “beautiful boy.” Wyn Luther, my grandson, is a first-name-last-name child.
Holly tree: revered for protective and enduring qualities, often linked to ancient Celtic rituals where the holly was used to ward off evil spirits.
