(Friday, June 17, 2016) waxing gibbous moon Sagittarius / tarot: two of swords reversed
I fell asleep listening to a long binaural beats meditation on Insight Timer and woke up at 11:30 pm with a vivid little dream:
I am with a young dark-haired woman. We have just returned to her small house. It is exactly the size of Cullan and Alea’s house, and slightly elevated from the ground in the same way. Must climb a short set of concrete stairs to get inside.
We enter the house and immediately she is on the hunt for an intruder. “This is not the same number of lights I left off in the house,” she says. I laugh. There are no lights on in the house at all, they are all off. I can’t fathom what she means. I would have said, “This is not the same number of lights I left ON in the house.”
A very tall young man with lovely blonde, curly locks stands closely behind us. He smiles at the young woman with same level of amusement as mine. I wonder if he is the intruder, I think he must be. But the young woman is too busy counting lights that are NOT on to notice the young man. He is incredibly friendly and completely unthreatening. He has a presence that he wants me to perceive. Which I do. He reminds me of T’ai-Chi Rob, although he appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties.
The young man and I stand by the front door when suddenly a loud pounding begins. Bam bam bam! I look through the window of the door to see two middle-aged women holding open the storm door. One woman pounds with her fist on the wooden entry door as she talks to her friend behind her.
I open the entry door as the one woman continues to pound: she ends up pounding her fist in the air. I laugh again. I ask, “Can I help you?” But she pushes her way past me and calls out to the young woman: “Tanya!” She pronounces Tanya’s name incorrectly, with a short “a” sound instead of a short “o” sound. Which makes me laugh. This is an absurd dream, I think to myself.
Curious Tanya comes to the door. The two women have brought a gourmet dessert for her, wrapped in a colorful plastic food pouch. I point out the beautiful photo of the dessert on the pouch but Tanya has already popped several cubes of cakeĀ into her mouth. I would have questioned the women about the ingredients, the gluten content, but Tanya does not hesitate to eat the sweets. As all this happens I continue to wonder about the young blonde man and the numbering of the lights, none of which are switched on, even though dusk approaches.
Day notes:
I wake suddenly from this dream. Almost with the sensation of riding down a child’s slide and then landing abruptly on the ground. Pop! I wake and hold the dream in all its detail, hyper-aware of the process of moving from the dream environment into waking reality.
Tomorrow I am going to Cullan and Alea’s house to donate some plants from my gardens. The young woman in the dream was small and dark-haired, like Alea, but with a completely different personality.
I was still amused by this dream when I awoke. The sensation was of a visit to a real place, with real people. I went downstairs and grabbed my computer: I had to record it immediately.
Tanya is a Russian saint’s name. I work with a young woman named Tonya (with an “o”). Tonya has blonde hair.
