Waking Dream: Beam

The last work I did with Sabine and her Photron device was a visit to the “Cloud Beings of the Star Nations.” During that session she told me about arriving in Santa Fe in August of 1987, relocating from Northern California. She had not heard of the Harmonic Convergence until arriving in town, the same as I. Driving in from the west, she observed a huge, vertical rainbow hovering above Santa Fe. A stripe of colored light. My precognitive dream of the Convergence had been of a giant energy beam piercing the earth. My vision, which I had shared in an early email, seems to have spoken to her.

My 2014 flight home from Santa Fe was on a very overcast Monday. Thunderclouds were building on top of the Sandia and Sangre de Christo mountains. Our pilot announced that we should remain seated, as we could encounter turbulence.

I am a fretful flyer on clear days, so I composed a half-serious internal prayer to the Cloud Beings for safe passage. I watched from my window seat as the plane climbed and climbed into the purple thunderheads. Then I looked down. A huge, horizontal rainbow stripe lay across the side of a mountain. A brilliant blanket of colored light. The flight was completely calm, with no turbulence at all.

Day notes:

On my trip to Santa Fe two years ago, my friend Anne and I were returning from visiting another sculptor in Cuba, New Mexico. We saw a stunning triple rainbow arc above Santa Fe as we drove in from the west.

Voyage to Detroit Via The Inland Seas

(Sunday, October 5, 2014) Waxing gibbous moon in Pisces / ace of cups

My son Cullan, my sister-in-law Kathy and I are getting ready for a journey over water. We are heading to a hotel for a family event. Maybe a funeral, maybe a reunion: my dream recall is fuzzy. We meet briefly in a parking lot next to the harbor to discuss our itinerary. I have my phone ready to input the exact address into Google Maps but Kathy is in too big of a hurry and gives the city of Detroit as our final destination. I don’t even have hotel reservations. I’m frustrated but I figure I can call Cullan once we are underway to get more precise information.

We begin our journey in Chicago, on Lake Michigan. We will have to travel all the way up Lake Michigan and all the way down Lake Huron. We are traveling on large, flat barges. The barges rise only a few inches above the waterline. There is no railing or pole to hang onto for balance and support. This makes me fearful: the water is calm but what if a storm blows in? The barges move very rapidly. Each of us travels on a separate barge. Kathy and Cullan are far ahead of me. The sky is heavy and grey but a golden light shines along the horizon.

Day notes:

The mood of this dream reminds me of how Kathy informed us of the date and time of my mother-in-law’s funeral only four days in advance. The funeral was September 27 and Kay died August 26.

Why Detroit? Chris has family in Holland, Michigan and I have family in Flint and Ann Arbor.

Dissolving into Stars

(Friday, October 3, 2024)

I have traveled to the peak of a very tall mountain. Dreaming. When the dream is complete, my body dissolves into beautiful golden stars, which fall to the earth and turn back into my physical body.
