(Monday, July 10, 2023) tarot eight of pentacles (work!)

I am inside of a large structure that needs cleaning and painting. The other workers are busy so I am caring for, sprucing, the interior environment. It’s a lot of work. The space is very old and has been neglected. I feel sad, overwhelmed, but the rooms I have already finished are lovely and the workers appreciate them.

I have two rooms left to go. They are large. One might be a kitchen. When I inspect a room next to the kitchen I see that the outside doors have deep scratches near the base. A dog trying to get in?

A former coworker (Tonya) comes to see me to thank me for an office chair. She asks how much she owes me for it and I tell her our employer supplied the funds. Then I notice a thin drape covering a door and look inside. It’s a narrow closet space attached to one of the rooms I need to work on. I see my former coworker John joking with one of his friends.

At dawn I dream of being with a group of much younger women. I am preparing to leave. Lots of the dream details are gone, but I remember inspiring and mentoring a few of the women in the past. Even what I leave behind will be useful to some. Kleopatra (a kind, beautiful Greek former coworker) asks me about an old United States law. She shows me the number associated with the legislation. I tell her I don’t know if it is still in effect, although I think it is. It seems to have passed in the 1960s.

I head up a set of stairs to a room where I can take my time and organize my departure. From there I can see the young women. They are very active and playful. The walls are invisible, or don’t exist.

In the open office room I am going through a stack of plastic cards. Many of them are not needed anymore, but a couple of them are still important. I can’t locate my bank card right away, yet after searching and finding it, I see that the plastic surface has split in half. There is a top and a bottom, and both pieces of plastic have lost most of their color and information. They are nearly clear. I begin my walk to the bank to ask for an updated card.

Day notes:

After the dream, in “waking” life, I went on two errands, meeting a helpful young woman at each stop. One woman was at my eye surgeon’s office. She asked for two cards to scan on her billing device.

When I worked with Kleopatra, she managed four talented young women on the EU marketing team that I interacted with each day. I miss them.
