Prescient: Sink Holes And Neighbors

(Friday, June 2, 2023)

This morning I dreamt the city was doing a lot of repairs and projects. My son was in the front yard, taking good, detailed notes. The workers started digging a deep channel (sewer level) from the street into our front yard, ending at the front door. This was unexpected.

I noticed our neighbors had work being done on their stucco house, so I walked over to ask Kristin about it.

In real life, today:

There are two new street sink holes in south Minneapolis. One is just a few blocks away (43rd and Pleasant). They could be affected by sewer issues.

I was coming back from grocery stores (four of them!) and my neighbor from the dream was standing in the street, talking to a friend in a small car as I passed by.

I Am Here To Stay

I awaken on my spine, in bed at my Rustic Lodge upper story. I’m not sure of my age. I have a childlike sensibility. Kitty Snowball is quietly wandering around.

I notice the energy of an invisible, haunting spirit in the room next to my bedroom. The haunt keeps throwing a large, square pillow at me, and I toss it back again and again. I don’t feel I am in danger, but the aggressive spirit makes me sad and frustrated. I don’t deserve these arial pillow attacks. Is it an amusement for the ghost?

I can feel multiple generations in my attic. Perhaps the ghost lived here a long time ago and does not want to leave. The haunt must think I am taking over the bedroom.

I decide to end the pillow fight and head down the steep, narrow stairs. On the main floor, I discover that both of my parents have just passed away. They have been in sufficient health, so this is a surprise. In my mind’s eye I see them lying together, facing the earth. Their bodies have begun to decay and their skin is now shell-like (rigor mortis?). I wonder if they have turned into seeds.

Prescient: New House Dream Exactly One Year In Advance

I am working on a new clay project. Because I have recurring house dreams, I printed out a bunch of them to inspire my three-story house sculpture idea. I stumbled on a dream from April of 2019 (New House, Arrhythmic Village). The dream arrived before Wyn was born and before I considered moving closer to our family. Every element of the dream is true. We bought our Rustic Lodge house in April of 2020.

The sculpture will be mounted on a wall. It will have an attic, a main floor and a cellar. The roof of the main floor will contain a small 6-page book with poems about each “story.” The attic will have an open roof and the upside-down cellar will have an open base so I can fill them with extra pieces (maybe guides from my dreams or ravens or furniture).

My raven woman sculpture did not turn out. Crossing my fingers on this one.
