6/30/23 At High School

I am going to high school. I look at a map to figure out how to walk there.

I observe three kids (in the school): two girls and a boy. Then there are two “cads” who try to “pick up” the younger, blond girl. The three kids have to get fingerprinted, but first they have to meet with a teacher. I find the classroom of the teacher, but I am not sure it is the right one.

6/24/23 Getting Immigrant Children Away From the Authorities

I am getting immigrant kids away from the border so the authorities won’t catch us. They have already crossed the border. I am an observer as well as part of the action. I look at the map on my phone with a boy around 12 years old. We are looking for a route where we can take to get away and not get caught. It is a small group of kids -10ish. I think all around end of elementary age-both girls and boys. By looking at the map, we see that taking the northern route would be the best. The route is north of where we are, but the route goes east and west. We are going to go west.

There is a woman who is measuring the kids for clothes. They will wear bright yellows and oranges-T-shirts and hats.

Journal: Homeless Families

(Tuesday, Independence Day, 2023) full moon Capricorn / tarot: Strength

During the past two days I have gone to Trader Joe’s in Edina and both times there were fathers sitting at the corner of the parking lot, holding signs about their precarious lives. Both had strollers holding small children in the 90 degree heat.

On Monday I forgot to grab some spinach for a recipe I am making today, so I walked a mile to Kowalski’s. There is always a homeless person standing or sitting on the sidewalk outside the door of the local grocery store. Yesterday it was a woman with brown skin. I saw her stroller, and when I went inside I grabbed a little money from the cash machine. I asked the cashier why there isn’t a shaded spot for the homeless but she had no answer. “Some people use umbrellas.” On my way out I was surprised to see the mother had a toddler and an infant. She was beginning to breastfeed her baby when I handed her a five and ten dollar bill.

I am never homeless in my dreams. Homeless people make me deeply sad. All of us deserve shelter, especially children.
