Carved Rooms

(Thursday, March 15, 2018) moon waning crescent Pisces / tarot ace of wands

I am not sure how to write about this. It’s a dream that seems to last all night, but what strikes me is the level of numinous, delicate detail. Rooms and rooms are filled with intricately carved wooden furniture and decor. Wooden walls, wooden floors, wooden doors. I have experienced this environment in other dreams. The light is softly golden and saturates all elements. The underlying energy of the physical reality is quietly palpable. Like a glowing fire.

One room is a large bath. The tall, white ceramic tub is full of towels stained with puss and blood, which have dried and stained the porcelain too. The body fluids are from Chris. It is my overwhelming responsibility to try to clean up this horror. He makes no effort, and my compassion is overridden by my exhaustion. My frustration and anger.

I move to another room. It is the sunroom from a dream I had last year about the beautiful sea and some shelter islands. This time the room is occupied by an East Indian man I work with in waking life. He is a software engineer with very dark skin, nearly black. The room has been set up with carved wooden shelves, desks and chairs. Golden oak. The style is old, European, but relaxed. I open my arms like a dancer. “This is your new workspace,” I say.

Day notes:

As I write this dream the coyotes make very short howls in the backyard. Almost bird-like.

The house in Northeast where Cullan was conceived had a sunroom. I kept my drawing table there, in the same spot against the wall where the dream desk sits.

Celebrity Healer And His Partner Have My Back

(Monday, March 5, 2018) moon Libra

Waking reality: I don’t remember why, but I ordered a book from the library called “Medical Medium.” I picked it up a week ago, and a few days later my naturopath Heidi recommended it in her monthly newsletter. I dug in and read most of it in one night.

All kinds of bells were rung. I found much of the content so astonishing that I made a Facebook post on Dreamsters, and that motivated me to ask Heidi if the author, Michael William, is credible. He says he is the Edgar Cayce of the 21st century. Heidi says she loves his books and agrees with much of his perspective on illness and healing. I have decided to purchase two of his books, one on thyroid conditions and one on his food and herbal therapies.

I had a dream Monday morning (before posting on Facebook). Upon awakening it seemed an irrelevant fragment. It took a day for its significance to crystallize: in the dream, I stand facing a small, boutique-style glass food counter. It resembles the hotel coffee shop in Virginia Beach. I am ordering a smoothie. A dark-haired male celebrity stands at my left. He leans against me with affection, his right arm stretched across my back, nearly touching a dark-haired woman on my right. They are partners, here to support me with great kindness.

When I woke up I thought the man was Jake Gyllenhaal, but now I think he is Anthony William. I think the dark-haired woman is Dr. Heidi. They “have my back.” Support, fix, my osteoporosis? I experience more and more dreams that provide health information.

IASD Submission: Black Wolf Romeo & Mary Mary Quite Contrary

These clay pieces are based on four dreams, the first of which appeared in July of 2014.

Dream 1: “Sorcerer’s Apprentice”
On my way to the sacred Black Hills, I meet a man who lives inside of a neolithic mound. “Hey, happy birthday,” he says. He has long white hair and is dressed in Merlin’s star-sprinkled blue cap and gown, but he tells me his name is Harry. He has a twin who also warmly greets me. Harry is extremely loving and provides me with deeply poetic information about the ecology of the earth. After the wizard departs from my dream, I go shopping, searching for clothes on a circular wooden display filled with scarves and a single brown leather purse. I discover that Merlin/Harry has placed a magician’s hat on my head.

Dream 2: “Black Wolf”
This dream occurred when I was in Glastonbury, England, for my 60th birthday during Beltane in 2017. I learned about Jill Purce from her husband Rupert Sheldrake’s 2015 email newsletter. I decided to participate in her Tantric mandala and overtone chanting ceremony at Earth Spirit Centre, an eco-retreat on a medieval farm 5 miles from Glastonbury. I stayed in an old stone cider barn next to pastures full of beautiful sheep. The Tor (an ancient sacred hill) is visible from Earth Spirit. Jill and Rupert have two sons, one named Merlin. The Arthur legend is very prominent in Glastonbury, as are two ley lines named The Michael and Mary Lines (Archangel Michael and Mary Magdalene). At the closing of the mandala we all wore white silk scarves provided by Buddhist monks.

The second night of the retreat, I dream I am on my ancestral lands, my grandmother’s farm on the prairie near Wabasha, Minnesota, home to my Irish and Dakota ancestors. I am searching for plants alongside the sandy drive. I spy a black wolf loping over the grassland and I move away as secretly as I can. I cross the gravel county road into a shallow ditch. There is a galvanized steel culvert at my back. The wolf sees me and runs at me, attacking with open jaws. I stand firm, grabbing him by the teeth.

Dream 3: “Black Wolf Romeo”
I shared the Glastonbury black wolf dream in Victoria Rabinowe’s 2017 morning session at the Anaheim IASD conference. Two days later, I dream that the black wolf and I lie together, blissfully. I gently stroke his fangs. We are in love.

Dream 4: “Black Wolf Romeo Joins Me In My Manor House”
In this recent dream, Romeo is a glistening spiritual presence in my new family home.

After the third dream, videos began showing up on my YouTube app about a black wolf named Romeo from Juneau, Alaska. He loved to play in the local dog park with his domestic cousins. There are many videos of this charming beast.
