7/8/26 I fall into the deep water/ We are allowed to go out for lunch

  1. I am standing on this cement shoreline that tilts down and is rough. It is not solid to the ground and when I stand on it, it bounces a bit. My brother, Dan, is standing on my left. We stand on the edge of the cement and the water of a lake. I lose my balance and fall into the lake. It is very deep. I ask Dan for help. However, I somehow climb out on my own. (climbing out is very visceral)

2. I am a worker with others in a church. 1/3 of the workers are European, 1/3 are lay people and 1/3 are clergy. We are not allowed to leave the church to go out for lunch. We then get permission to go out in small groups. Three of us, one from each group of people, go out, one group at a time. Someone is making a list to see who goes out and when. We are relieved.

Journal: Black Wolf Story

(Monday, July 13, 2026) new moon Cancer

Nevuah’s research about Cullan’s name (Gaelic version: “wolf cub”) is a surprising inspiration for me to create a new story. My life is too complex right now to work on the art projects for my Eadie faerie tale. Quiet autumn and winter are easier for the complexity of design work. But I feel I have time to write, a physically simpler process, and writing is critical for my health. My two recent blog posts hit me like lightning this morning. It’s time to think about my black wolf dream. The huge, prescient element of that dream is still affecting me, especially with insights into my ancestry. I’ll dig into my dream blogs again to find stories that rhyme with the black wolf, plus look into English black wolf mythology.

If my son is a cub, am I the wolf? Black wolf, black raven, black cosmos. My deceased godmother’s last name was Wolfe, as I have mentioned a few times.

Somehow I want to include the name Silverthorne in my new story.

All my life I have felt I write better than I draw. Yet when I visited my mother last week I saw an old oil painting of our log cabin I had made as a teenager. It was more intricate and beautiful than I remembered.

Synchronicity: John William Silverthorne, 15th Great-Grandfather, 1450-1538, St. Mary The Virgin Churchyard, Wiltshire, England

On my 60th birthday, when I was at Jill Purce’s spiritual retreat near Glastonbury, England, I had a precognitive dream about living in my ancestral land (my black wolf dream). Back then, I did not know that the Luther family was from England, but these days I find more and more data about us. Ancestry.com just sent me a few links to my Silverthorne ancestors (part of the Luther family). Many generations of the Silverthornes are buried in St. Mary The Virgin Churchyard, a Wiltshire cemetery. Wiltshire is very close to Glastonbury and Stonehenge. I need to go there!

There is a lovely story about the name Silverthorne. Supposedly it comes from the Glastonbury Thorn, the “Holy Thorn,” a symbol of Christian tradition. Legends say Joseph of Arimathea arrived in Britain, planting his staff on Wearyall Hill, which miraculously grew into the thorn tree. The Holy Thorn blooms twice a year, during winter (Christmas) and spring (Easter).

It is synchronicity that my father, James Luther, is buried at a St. Mary’s cemetery, but his is in Minneiska, Minnesota.
