(Thursday, June 2, 2016) moon: waning crescent Taurus / tarot: four of cups
Last night I was sitting in bed after dark, watching the sparkle of the fireflies in the small woods by our pond. A giant bird flew very close to my window, in complete silence. So I presumed it to be one of the Great Horned Owls that have lived in our yard for years. Once during a full moon I saw owl sitting in the lawn, casting a long, majestic shadow: a ghostlike apparition, completely magical and unforgettable. We hear them softly hoo-hooing during their winter mating season, usually in February.
I was so moved by the silence and the size of the bird I mentioned it to Chris when I came home today. “Oh,” he said, “owl left a feather for you on the front step.”
Sure enough. It’s the third owl feather we have found on our property, and the most perfect.
Wow, what a blessing and a gift. Owl Woman. Woman who Flies with he Owls!
