I am reading a book called “A Witch’s Natural History.” It is about nature and witchcraft, written by a brilliant English poet named Giles Watson. I sat on the porch reading the first chapter, “The Unfamiliar Spiders.” A rep walked by on my driveway and asked if we had mice or spiders in the house (a pest removal company). I said no mice and only spiders in the basement. Giles wrote about the importance of witches keeping creatures alive. I told the rep no need for my spiders to be terminated.
I am a spider woman also. I do not kill them. Recently Laura gave me a ride in her car. There was a daddy long legs on the floor by my legs. I told her about it. I could tell she wasn’t happy about a spider being in her car. When we stopped I gently directed the spider out the door.
