Two Buffets

(Wednesday, December 17, 2025)

The dream begins with me sleeping in bed with Chris. He roles over on top of me. He is very, very heavy and it takes a lot of strength to push him off. I move out of the bedroom to a middle room, a room between the kitchen and living room. I have the sense of having dreamt of this exact house before. It is my house, but a young man is visiting, and I meet him in the empty space. A room without furniture.

We walk into the kitchen and do a little work together, cleaning and getting ready for breakfast. It is early morning, maybe 4 am.

The dream switches to the outdoors, the sand prairie. My grandmother Lenora is working with other ancestors to create a celebration, a fancy picnic. There are two long dining areas that are covered, tented. They feel like mazes, as there are tall grasses inside. I walk to the first one, expecting to enter the space and choose my own meal at the expansive buffet. Two socially-confident, middle-aged men, maybe chefs or waiters (who feel like actors, comedians), step in front of me and hand me a large white porcelain dish. They start to fill it with chicken or turkey. Meat. Being a vegetarian, this upsets me. I walk around them and head into the tent.

This must be the picnic area for non-family members: the buffet and tables are full of conversational friends, people I do not recognize. Because I know none of them, I move on to the tent behind this one, the buffet for my ancestors and relatives. The dream ends quickly here, and I think the space is empty.

These are the two buffet tents. The black lines represent the area to walk inside the tent.

  1. There is some male energy: Chris, young man and the two “actor” men. To me there is some boundary setting: getting Chris off me and walking away from the two men and the meat. The young man is positive male energy.
Ancestors seem to be a theme with the last dream and this one. I love your grandmother preparing a celebration/picnic. At the end, the dreamer moves to the tent with her relative and ancestors. She knows where she belongs.
