Today my friend Mary came to my house for a walk and a lunch. We ambled past two galleries in my neighborhood. The second one was extraordinary, full of black and white photos of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe (her roommate and lover in the late 60s, before he came out as gay). There were pencil drawings by Patti, too, which I had never seen.
It reminded me of Chris’ Patti dream, so I told him to make sure he sees the exhibit.
