An Extra Bedroom

(Wednesday, August 13, 2025)

I have posted so many synchronicities today that I am just getting to writing about a dream I remember from this morning: I am at my Rustic Lodge house, on the upper story with two small children, a boy and a girl. The shape of the second floor is the same as it is in real life, but the furniture elements are completely different. Older. And there is a third, attached bedroom which does not exist in reality. It is next to my former bedroom, where my grandkids sleep now.

I am doing some work upstairs. I show the children each of the rooms, and finally open the door to the third room. The little boy is the most curious and he goes inside. Somewhere I find some treats and hand them off to the kids, then we walk downstairs together.

In the kitchen the parent (I think the father) is concerned about the children eating candies that we are unsure of where they came from. I toss them and they get something fresh out of the fridge.

Chris is sleeping in his actual first story bedroom. We are waiting for him to wake up but he stays in bed, behind the door. That causes me some worry …

Day notes:

Grandmothers are not in charge of diet and other aspects of our kiddos’ lives. Wyn and Oona are sleeping over tonight.

There are a lot more elements of the dream but I waited too long to record it. I do recall the basic outline.

Cullan and I have had a lot of discussions about remodeling the basement studio room so I can have a private and pleasant bedroom of my own again.

  1. Bedrooms seem to be the dominant symbol. A third bedroom (3=creativity?) It is a place to dream, go inward. And it is on the top floor-higher level awareness? Do you know whose bedroom it is?
