Working From Home, Fifteen Hundred

(Thursday, March 26, 2020, Hillary’s birthday) waxing crescent moon Taurus / tarot five of cups

Chris and I have an apartment. The number 1500 is an unclear aspect of the dream: our rent or mortgage is $1500, or the square footage is 1500, or my weekly income is $1500, or Chris’ SSDI monthly payment is $1500.

We will need to be moving on shortly, looking for another home. Need, not just want. Why? Will I lose my job due to the coronavirus? I don’t know. 1500 seems to also be a component of the new space for which we are hunting.

Right now, my creative director boss Louis and a female employee are working on a video-set placed in my living room, near the big picture window. The set is built to look like the ruins of an ancient, cube-shaped, open-stone temple. As Louis and I start to dismantle the set, I see it is made of painted cardboard. Lightweight, disposable.

I move away from the deconstruction of the set, into the unlit dining room. I notice our new golden tabby eating from her bowl in the sunny kitchen. Perhaps we have moved out of the apartment, on to our new home, because when I open the front door I view nature, the wild outside. I see Lola Belle Luther walking up the steps, irritated. We thought our beloved feline was dead, but she is fully alive and has been waiting, impatiently, to enter her house.

Lola coming to her front door during crabapple blossom time.

Day notes:

CNN reports that on Thursday the US saw an increase of more than 15,000 cases of the coronavirus in one day. And the US death toll climbed to 1500 on Friday, March 27.

Tarot reading: What is the message from this dream? Past: 1, present: 5, future: 15 (ace of pentacles, Hierophant, Devil).

“If your birth number is 15, you are likely to be involved with a career or occupation that either takes place in the home or has strong domestic associations.”

“The energy represented by the number 100 (and 1000) is the energy of an unlimited number 1. The energy of the digit 1 brings independence, leadership qualities, and the ability to work alone to the number 100 energy. The digits 0 bring openness, wholeness, comprehensiveness, and infinity.”

As a perfect number, 6 (1+5) is associated with harmony and balance. The number 6 is all about responsibility, security and living a harmonious life within the home. Those who resonate with a 6 vibration are usually home bodies who are more focused on relationships with family and friends than material gain.

I named this dream “Working From Home, Fifteen Hundred” before I even looked into the numerology.

Apart-ment. Non-owner.

Lola’s cremation box has been sitting on the dining table since she passed. I cleaned the table last week and forgot to put her back. Two days after this dream Chris asked, “Where’s Lola?” I opened the cupboard door and returned her to the tabletop. Lola lived with us for almost 15 years.

I will be hiring a young graphic designer in the next month or so. I am happy to provide opportunity and guidance, but I realize after having this dream that this could be a source of worry. My company has been laying off long-term employees and replacing them with less expensive, less experienced new employees. I could be forced to retire early. That has happened too. I’ve been at Ergotron for 15 years.

(Saturday, February 4, 2023) This dream was precognitive in several ways. I had it the morning we looked at our new house on 100 Rustic Lodge West. When standing outside with our realtor, discussing an offer, the neighbor golden tabby named Nemo came over to meet us. I used the number 15 to determine how much we should offer (competing with three other bids). Last year we met our stray cat Snowball, whom we were able to coax into our front door to join our family, like Lola. My comment about forced early retirement was also prescient, as I lost my job on January 3, 2023. I think of the “future” Devil card. Past: sanctuary, present: corporate world, future: oppression, people who can harm you.

Sleep Paralysis: Wyn’s Curling Fingers

(Monday, March 9, 2020) Full Worm Moon in Virgo / tarot Star

I have an extremely lucid episode of sleep paralysis early this morning. I lie on my right side, facing the north bedroom window. My left arm rests along my ribs and hip. I feel tiny, soft baby fingers curl around my pinky, caressing me in a gentle, loving, joyful way.

I want to free my dream body so I can roll over and view the rest of the room. I am so lucid I realize I do not wish to wake up Chris with the high-pitched scream I made in my sleep paralysis of a few weeks ago. Instead I do my Mongolian overtone chanting, quietly, and it works. My body moves, but my focus is on my busy mental process. I feel asleep and awake at the same time.

When I truly wake up a few hours later, the memory of Wyn’s beautiful fingers makes me blissfully happy the entire day. A big dream.

“Angel trees” outside my north bedroom window

Fragment: White Whiskers And Deep Roots

(Wednesday, February 5, 2020) waxing gibbous moon Cancer / tarot Hermit

With my fingers, I pull out three prominent white whiskers from beneath my chin. Surprisingly, the roots are extracted too. They are thick, and nearly an inch in length. I am very curious about how my female body could harbor such strong, wild hair follicles. And why.

Day notes:

It’s fun that my tarot card of the day is the Hermit, an elder with a full, white beard.

An event that feels potentially magical occurred today. I recently received my 2020 tree contract via email from Dave at Shadywood, the arborist who has been wonderfully caring for our trees for at least 10 years. Today I told him we would be selling our house, and that struck up an extended conversation: he is very interested in buying it. I would love for him to have the property. At Jill Purce’s Red Tara Mandala, one of my ceremonial wishes was to “restore my land,” meaning reestablishing the habitat to its native, wetland roots. But I have not had the energy or the financial resources to do it. I am sad about letting go of our property without that restoration having taken place. An arborist could certainly move things in that direction! I also wonder if he is the man in my Dire Wolf dream with an offer for our house.
