Fragment: Portland

(Friday, July 31, 2026) waning gibbous moon Pisces

A middle of the night dream where most details have dissolved: I have just moved to Portland, to a small house or apartment that is very pleasant. I am prepping and preparing my new home, but not unpacking anything. That is already done. Maybe I have been there for a few weeks.

A message appears in my mind, not a phone call or an email, that Cullan is on his way to Portland. Moving. He has no idea that I am now living in this city (that I have never visited but he has multiple times), so I call him to let him know. I am overjoyed that he is nearly here, that we will live in the same town and I will not be completely alone.

Day notes:

I woke up and knew I had many dreams last night but could not remember them, until I was checking my weather app on my phone. I have Portland saved, along with ten other cities, so that made this dream pop up. Synchronicity: because the Nicollet Avenue bridge is closed until next year, I often have to detour on Portland Avenue.

Maybe this is about Cullan being able to buy his own house in the future.

I am reading a book written by a woman from Ashland, Oregon, “Song of Belonging” by Michelle St. Romain. In chapter one, she describes a new house she has just moved into.

  1. The name Portland stuck out to me. Port has different meanings: a wine, a place on the coast, river or lake where ships load and unload cargo, etc and a port on a computer that knows where to send and receive different types of internet data. The last definition reminds me of the brain. You are now living in the land of the port… I like that you have already unpacked and are now prepping and preparing. And that you received the message from Cullan in your mind.
