Hey, Happy Birthday!

Dream 1:

At our October 6 dream group, Lori shared three dreams which were equally physical, spiritual and poetic. The next morning, I dreamt that I was dreaming Lori’s dream and giving birth, while standing up, of a happy, healthy baby. I may even have been walking while in labor. It was effortless, and the pleasant sensation of the baby’s transition from within my body stayed with me into waking consciousness.

Dream 2:

A happy couple have invited a friend to dine at an elegant restaurant with them. Their friend is a great beauty with long, dark tresses. Kind hearted. She is not quite ready to depart with them, so they go on ahead while she prepares herself in front of her vanity mirror. I am the observer. I see the couple seated at the restaurant, and I see the beautiful woman in her bedroom. The top of the woman’s thick hair is is full of hairpins or perhaps surgical needles. The pins/needles form an oval at the crown of her head. Wavy dark hair is pressed tightly against her scalp inside the oval. Outside of the oval her hair flows freely. In the dream I wonder if she has a brain tumor and is waiting for the surgeon’s knife. When I awaken, I think that the image is like the crowning of an infant’s head, ready to emerge from the birth canal.

Day notes:

So of course I think of the magician Harry from my Sorcerer’s Apprentice dream who wishes me happy birthday.

One of my favorite yoga poses is happy baby.

Zeus gives birth to Pallas Athena from the top of his head.
