I had a lovely lunch with my friend Jeanne C. today. She is a brilliant writer and artist, with degrees from MCAD and Hamline. Her kitchen is always full of books. She is writing a memoir of her passed bisexual husband Jim. At Gigi’s restaurant she told me about her recent recurring “hippie” dreams. She is living with people at least a decade younger than she, in a sixties-style commune. I think of Canadian dreamer Toko-pa Turner, who grew up in a commune. Jeanne thinks these dreams are about the collapse in the economy and the need for dramatic changes. People living together, not on social media, not in denial of human reality.
