2/22/26. Paul Abandons Me

Paul and I are younger. We drive to a place in the Minnetonka Lake area. Paul is driving. The clouds are beautiful. They “shoot light” from their tops. I try to get a photo, but cannot. We get to a person’s house to pick up something from the guy’s father that Paul knew in the past. It is made of cloth, but I don’t know what it is. The guy knows who Paul is. We stay for awhile. The guy, years ago, when he was in Bali was bitten on the face by a shark. He has a scare. A woman is around. She rolls across the floor for her exercise. The guy’s wife is around and is nice.

Then I see a small dog and a girl about 12-13 years old. I recognize the dog from my previous dream where I was working at a school and the dog was there. The girl explains that the dog belongs to a guy who is out of town and she/they are taking care of it. I feel sorry for the dog. It is a sweet dog.

Then Paul is gone. It is night. I go outside and look for the car and it is gone. Everyone runs around, looking for a phone to call him. I look in my purse and I do not have my cell phone. Someone does and calls Paul. He comes back. I tell the man with the shark bite that Paul has memory issues. Paul is driving a convertible and has put the top down.

We drive awaay and then stop in Mound. We see these garish, run down apartments that are about 3-4 stories high. We stop at a party There is a guy’s daughter who made and plays this instrument that has these white tubes. I go to look for Paul. Again he is gone. Tow guys come and start to rape me. I wake up. A nightmare!

  1. Horrible to dream of rape, Bonnie! More like a Jeanne G. dream.

A spouse with Alzheimer’s must feel like abandonment. Hopefully he is still able to drive. Chris had his license taken away when he had his seizure (this week he applied to get it reinstalled). During our Mayo Zoom meetings we have had discussions about driving. There is concern that if a driver with a diagnosis of AD or dementia has an accident, they can be sued. There are periodic testings through the AARP but I have not looked into that yet.
