Prehistoric Backyard With A Dire Wolf Pack And One Elephant

(Thursday, October 24, 2019) waning crescent moon Virgo / tarot 8 of sparks

I hear tremendously loud howling and yelping from a pack of huge wolves. The cacophony happens right next to the outer southwest wall of our house, near the basement studio. Chris hauls stuff up the stairs for safety. The wolves are not just coyotes, they are prehistoric dire wolves, strong enough to break through windows if they want. I try to turn on the light switch for Chris but nothing happens, no matter how many times I click the big button up and down. I wonder if the house has a power outage.

I peer out the upper level windows. The backyard feels raw, not turfed and domesticated. Wild. I sense that it is in fact prehistoric, probably the Pleistocene Epoch. The wolves have moved on, but I tell Chris about a single, large elephant that I see in the back corner of our property, in the place where the current-day coyotes like to hang out. The elephant is tall and not too hefty, with soft fur and long tusks. A mastodon? He walks slowly and peacefully across the open field. Regal, beautiful. Then he is gone from my sight.

As Chris heads outside to try to find the elephant (in spite of the wolves), he tells me that a man who has an offer for our property is coming shortly, planning to walk around the outside southwest corner of the house. I am to pay attention to the arrival of the buyer.

Day notes:

When I wake up I remember the same dead electrical switch in the lucid dream I had at Jeanne C.’s house “False Awakening: Jeanne and Jim.” I think this is one of my dream clues, like Carlos Castaneda and Robert Waggoner’s hand-in-front-of-face clue: Hey, this is a dream!
